160th Ploughing Match
Today I went to my first ploughing match in 3 years and I've missed them big time. I'm pretty sure most people will have never heard of them let alone gone to one but being a bit of a country girl I feel bad when I miss one. They always have the cake and jam judging tent along with scarecrow and fresh fruit competitions this year, the giant pumpkins (I always hope to grow one of these but have always failed) a gymkhana and obviously the ploughing match itself along with the oldest and smartest farmers I've ever seen. I loved it and stupidly wore a dress and my hunter wellies and even though I was a little cold I really enjoyed it. I bought a couple of pumpkins ready for Halloween, some corn on the cob and a book.

james brown
The new Autumn Cath Kidston magazine came through today and there's some beautiful limited edition screen prints by James Brown- who until today I hadn't heard of, after a little bit of googling I found his website and blog and I absolutely love his work, it's beautiful and vintage looking and I want it all!
pearl lowe
Pearl Lowe's new Peacock's collection is out, I fell in love with the black version of the lace dress (I'd love one in every colour) and am waiting for it to be delivered, I was in two minds about the leopard print dress and now it's sold out I think I'm going to regret not ordering one!

true blood
It's taken me a while to catch on to the whole new wave of vampires, I went to see the first Twilight film and hated nearly every moment of it. I know vampires aren't exactly "normal" but Twilight is too far fetched for me and I can't stand Robert Patterson (even if he does glitter). However I've always liked the idea of vampires, mainly down to an ITV drama that I saw a long time ago (and now have on dvd) and I caught a few episodes of True Blood and loved it. It's just amazing. Like all good tv programmes/ films it was once a book so I borrowed the first one 'Dead Until Dark' from a friend of mine and was totally hooked- I read it in a day and immediately bought the box set by Charlaine Harris, which arrived today, I'm so very excited and I can't wait to get my teeth into them! (excuse the pun)

emily peacock
On night shifts I love doing cross stitches, the only problem is they take me forever because of the counting and lack of brain cells at 3am onwards. However after doing one of Emily Peacock's tapestries "HUG" as a cross stitch I've been determined to do the matching one "KISS". The hug one I started in January time and I finished it around April/ May time, I'm hoping I may finish this one a little quicker and by then hopefully I will have decided to make them into cushions or have them framed, but I will update you on how I'm getting on. Also Emily Peacock is teaming up with Rob Ryan to do a limited edition tapestry sometime this month and if its not too much I may just be tempted by it.

Camden
Today was my first ever trip to Camden markets and they're are amazing. There is tons and tons of tacky tourist tat but there are some beautiful hidden little gems in the antique stalls and vintage shops. I bought something I have been longing for- a fox stole, it's a full fox which means it has no lining its actually just a flat fox and he is beautiful. I promised the stall owner I'd keep calling him Mr Fox so Mr Fox he is. Also I found this tiny little silk gloves which fit...well like a glove and a magpie's dream 1950's glitzy bracelet. I also bought an 'I <3 London' vest top because deep down I love a little bit of tacky! I'm pretty sure that won't be my last trip to Camden.
